Meet Our Eye Surgeon

Dr. Alyssa Hoehn is a board-certified ophthalmologist and eye surgeon, specializing in cataract surgery, LASIK and medical eye care. She has been practicing in Moscow since 2013.

Dr. Hoehn believes that the best care is personal. That’s why she’s developed designed her entire practice around delivering a personal experience. From initial consultations, through surgery, treatment and follow-up, Dr. Hoehn works closely with every one of her patients.

Training & Experience

Dr. Hoehn earned her medical degree at the Loma Linda University of Medicine, followed by an internship at the Arrowhead Regional Medical Center and an ophthalmology residency at the Loma Linda University Medical Center.

During her residency, Dr. Hoehn provided ophthalmological services for four of the largest hospitals in the region, serving a patient population of more than 4-million residents. She also completed a refractive surgery rotation at the U.S. Navy Medical Center, San Diego. There, she completed advanced training in the latest LASIK refractive techniques, performing over 50x the number of LASIK procedures performed by the average resident.

In 2013, Dr. Hoehn moved home to the Palouse, and opened Moscow Family Eye Care. Since then, Dr. Hoehn has performed hundreds of cataract and refractive procedures, providing personal care to thousands of patients in Moscow, Pullman and Latah and Whitman counties.

A Family History of Local Care

Dr. Hoehn grew up in Moscow, and her family has a long history of providing medical care in the region.

Her father, Tom Bowen, was an orthopedic surgeon in Moscow and Pullman for 9 years. Her mother, Patti Bowen has been practicing dentistry in Moscow since 1989.

Dr. Hoehn’s brother, Joe Bowen, is an orthopedic surgeon in Post Falls, and her brother Ben Bownen, has been practicing dentistry next door at Moscow Family Dentistry since 2005.
